Date to be announced
7-9pm
Meet your Sweetie for a special couple’s massage exchange for date night. Feel connected with an evening of massage, deep relaxation and the refinement of touch. Learn how to use proper body mechanics and protocols to help restore and reboot tired muscles while refining and qualifying your touch to new levels. Get feedback from your partner and use the tools of more sensitive touch to improve your life.
- Begin the evening by celebrating your relationship with chocolates, closeness, and a toast to a more intimate future. Couples will be greeted with a restive environment of soft lighting, aroma therapy, soothing music, chocolates, and healthy bubbly beverages. Each participant will have a printed “how to” sheet on the basic steps to a full hour of massage. The gift of touch can open the doors for more closeness by investigating the sensitivities of your loved one, meanwhile honoring respected boundaries.
- Both partners will exchange a one hour therapeutic Swedish massage with each other using formal protocols of effleurage, pettrisage, tapotement and deep tissue strokes with oil and lotion.
- The participants will learn how not only how give a massage and prepare professional draping, but how to engage communication to rate the levels of massage pressure and receptivity. The positive effects of massage therapy include increased circulation, alpha state for the mind, which is similar to the brain wave frequency of meditation, and guidance towards the restorative parasympathetic state, a physiological rest stop where cell nutrition and respiration is increased. Lactic acid can be released from chronically tense muscles, systemic or chronic holding patterns released, and the nervous system slows slow. Deeper breaths and guided meditation into a holistic integration can bring couples into a more subtle frequency with one another.
Bring a robe, large bath towel, and if you have special oil or lotion allergies, bring your own massage oils/lotions.
Always check first with your doctor to see if massage is contra-indicated for any medical condition before you receive a massage session.
